Police helicopter launched as arrests made after man punched

Two men have been arrested after a man is believed to have been punched in Stockwood this afternoon (June 29). The incident happened around 1.30pm and the police helicopter was deployed along with officers on the ground to find the offenders.

The victim is said to have walked away from the incident and was later found by police officers in Sturminster Road. The man also did not require immediate medical treatment.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman said: "The National Police Air Service helicopter supported officers on the ground following reports of a man being punched and threatened in Stockwood, Bristol. A witness called 999 1.30pm on Saturday 29 June and said the victim had walked away after the incident at an address in Dutton Road.

"Officers attended immediately to search for the injured person, who was found in nearby Sturminster Road. Thankfully he did not require immediate medical treatment.

"Two men were arrested from an address in Dutton Road and remain in police custody while enquiries continue. If you have any information which could help the investigation, please call 101 and give the reference 5224168703."
