Police helicopter scrambled to Kilmarnock as man spotted running through gardens

Police have descended on the Bellfield area of Kilmarnock this afternoon amid an ongoing incident.

A force helicopter is understood to have been scrambled to the area along with officers on the ground.

One eyewitness reported seeing a man being chased by police through gardens near to Loudoun Avenue.

A number of police vehicles have piled into surrounding streets in a bid to apprehend the man.

A helicopter appears to be following tailing the incident from the skies in a bid to offer support to officers.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
