Police hunt 'dangerous individual' after releasing footage of 'violent and completely unjustified' attack on man in east London

Police are appealing for information after releasing this shocking footage of a “vicious and unprovoked attack” on a man on a night out in east London.

The 26-year-old victim was outside the Be @ One Bar in Shoreditch when a man – who was standing beside him – suddenly and unexpectedly punched him in the face.

In the harrowing footage, the victim is knocked to the floor, and the man then proceeds to kick him in the face before leaving the scene, heading east along Old Street.

Partygoers and door staff came to the victim’s aid and the London Ambulance Service and police were called to the scene.

He was taken to Royal London Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.

The suspect is described as black, of medium build with short dark hair, and wearing a dark blue shirt and black bomber jacket.

He was seen inside the bar with a group of men and women shortly before the assault.

DC Vicki Henderson of Hackney Violent Crime Unit, said: “This was a violent and completely unjustified attack on an innocent man enjoying a night out; which left him with serious injuries – including a broken nose, fractured eye socket and broken tooth. His vision remains affected.

“The suspect is clearly a dangerous individual who needs to be apprehended. I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the footage or witnessed the incident to contact my team.”
