Police are hunting a driver involved in a car crash that resulted in a pregnant woman losing her unborn child.

West Midlands Police said the crash, which involved a BMW and a Toyota, took place on Crooks Lane in Solihull, West Midlands, in May last year.

An 18-year-old connected to the BMW was arrested on suspicion of theft of the motor vehicle after the crash, which happened at around 7.30pm on 17 May.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue, but police are now hunting for another man.

West Midlands Police has released images of a man dressed in black who is believed to have been driving the BMW at the time of the crash.

They want to speak to the man and have appealed for any information relating to the crash.

Detective Constable Rachael Johnson, of West Midlands Police's CID, said: "This has had a lasting impact on the family who were left devastated that day at the loss of their unborn baby.

"We have carried out CCTV enquiries and spoken to witnesses and our investigation continues.

"I would appeal directly to the suspect to do the right thing and get in touch with us."
