The body of a man has been found in a river in Ipswich.

Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses after they received reports a body was found in the River Orwell at 1.15pm on Saturday.

A crew member on a boat spotted the body in the water by Orwell Bridge, the force said.

Emergency services attended the scene, with HM Coastguard recovering the body from the river.

The death is being currently being treated as unexplained, with enquiries continuing, police said.
