Police launch appeal to find moped gang who tried to rob Knightsbridge store

Police have released CCTV footage of an attempted shop raid in an attempt to find the moped gang responsible.

Four suspects, all dressed in black and with helmets on, pulled up outside the shop on Cheval Place in Knightsbridge, London, on two mopeds.

Three members of the gang were seen attempting to kick through the door of the store, while a fourth blocked the road.

Two members of staff and a customer were inside the store at the time and sounded the alarm.

Despite the efforts of the suspects, they were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the shop and left empty-handed.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of robbery and police are now seeking help to find the suspects.

Detective Constable Lucy Gallimore, from Kensington and Chelsea CID, said: “We are appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward and speak to police.

“The CCTV we are releasing captures the suspects outside the store. You may recognise the bikes they are riding or perhaps the clothing and helmets they are wearing.”

Anyone with any information on the incident, that took place on Friday, 22 September at around 10.30am, is asked to call 101 or alternatively to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
