Police launch appeal to find the mother of baby girl abandoned at bus stop

A fresh appeal to find the mother of a baby abandoned at a bus shelter has been launched, after police confirmed that she may be discharged from hospital very soon.

The tiny youngster was discovered in the bus shelter near the Magpie and Stump pub in Towyn, North Wales, at 7.15am on Tuesday.

Now, the first photos have been released of the infant, showing her at Glan Clwyd Hospital, as police appeal for the child’s mother to come forward.

In an impassioned video appeal, Helen Douglas of North Wales Police appeals straight to the girl’s mother.

‘We think that you placed your daughter somewhere where she would be found and that is why it is important that you know your daughter is making good progres

s and actually may be well enough to be discharged soon’, she says in the video.

‘Your daughter needs a name and we want you to tell us what you want for her even if you don’t feel able to look after her yourself.’

She added that police were ‘really concerned’ about the mother’s welfare and are keen to ensure that she can be provided with medical treatment and support.
