Police have located a child feared to be in a “missing” car, having appealed to the public to help officers “urgently” find it.

The white Audi A3 was reported missing, having been last seen in Newham, East London at about 12.18pm.

The Metropolitan Police had asked anyone who saw the car should call 999.

Update 3.30pm: Police say the car has been found and the child “located safe and well elsewhere”, while officers are “establishing the circumstances of the report”.
