Police Use Pepper Spray to Disperse Protesters Following Trump Rally

Police used tear gas to disperse protesters outside the venue in Arizona where President Donald Trump held a political rally on August 22.

Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams told local media that a small group of individuals threw rocks, bottles and gas at police officers after Trump concluded his speech. Police responded with pepper spray to disperse the people and to protect themselves, he said.

He also confirmed that four people were arrested, including two people on charges of aggravated assault and one on charges of criminal damage. Another person was arrested due to an outstanding warrant. Credit: Instagram/David Beishline via Storyful
