Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a c2c train have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to, who they believe could assist with their enquiries.

At around 11.30pm on Monday, March 4, a man boarded a c2c train, running between Benfleet and Fenchurch Street, and sat next to another man.

The British Transport Police say the man proceeded to touch his own crotch before sexually assaulting the passenger next to him

Officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak too.

A spokesman added: "Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.

"If you recognise him or have any information please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 14 of the 5 March."
