Police seek help finding missing woman

Mar. 28—VALDOSTA — Police want the public's help in locating a woman missing for almost a week.

Around 7:30 a.m. Monday, officers headed to a home in the 1300 block of JoRee Street after someone called E911 to report his girlfriend missing, a Valdosta Police Department report stated.

Charlene McKinney, a 39-year-old Black woman, had not been seen by her family since the evening of March 21 when she was walking in the Melody Lane area, police said.

The police statement described McKinney as 5-feet-4-inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing dark black pants and a black wig.

She was possibly seen in the 300 block of North Troup Street on March 24; the family said she is known to be in the area of the 500 block of East Central Avenue and the North Troup Street area, police said.

If anyone sees McKinney or knows of her location, they should contact E911, the Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigative Services at 229-293-3145, or the crime tip line at 229-293-3091.
