A boy of 17 has been arrested after police say they stumbled upon a street attack in Birmingham. Officers happened to come across the assault on Holyhead Road at around 4pm on Wednesday, June 26.

Officers said a suspect tried to flee the scene after they saw police, but they "managed to catch up with him." Officers then recovered two knives and drugs at the scene.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested and has since been bailed as police make further enquiries. Police say the boy, from West Bromwich, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife, possessing drugs and assault.
