Police Use Water Cannon on Anti-Lockdown Protesters in Berlin

Thousands of protesters against Germany’s COVID-19 control measures gathered near the Reichstag building in Berlin on November 18, with police using water cannons to disperse them.

The protest came as parliament debated further restrictions under the Infection Protection Act.

Berlin Police said people at the demonstration were not social distancing, or wearing masks, and were asked to leave the area. Police also said they used pepper spray after being pelted with bottles, stones and firecrackers. Credit: @neukamp_v via Storyful
