Pope Francis calls for peace and dialogue with Muslim in Egypt

Pope Francis has arrived in Egypt for a visit aimed at promoting better ties between Muslim and Christian faith leaders. He told a peace conference that dialogue is the only way to overcome Islamic militants who’ve persecuted Christians. The trip takes places amid heavy security as it comes just three weeks after Islamic State militants killed at least 45 people in two Egyptian churches. He’s due to celebrate an open air Mass on Saturday at a military arena.

A bus crashed off a bridge and into the Moyka River in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Friday, May 10, with local police saying around 20 people were on board.Local media reported that at least five people died, with four “seriously injured”.
