The cafe at Lickey Hills Country Park Visitor Centre is set to close. The cafe, which is not council operated, will close on Sunday, June 30 until such a time as a new operator is found.

The cafe, which has indoor and outdoor seating, sells light snacks and drinks on a cash-only basis. Reviewers say the spot, just off Warren Lane, it serves 'good fittle' as well as toasties, cakes and pastries.

The post announcing the closure stated: "Sadly after Sunday, June 30 the cafe will no longer be available at the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre off Warren Lane. The cafe owners have decided to move on and we wish them well but shall miss them.

"The toilets and information point will still be available but you will need to bring your own refreshments until the vacancy is filled. Remember folks please no BBQS on site due to risk of fire and the danger to public and habitats."

In a further comment, the post advised that the park would welcome tenders for the space. It said: "Opportunities to trade in Birmingham's parks are advertised via Find It In Birmingham. In the first instance we ask all interested parties to register where you will be notified when tender opportunities become available."

Visitor Beth Hodgson commented: "I hope this isn’t the end of an era and the cafe keeps going in some format. I shall miss seeing Deb and Florence. They make the best cheese and onion toasties."

Michelle Wright added: "We will miss our Saturday morning coffees."
