One of Enniskillen's most popular publicans, the late Pat Blake will be laid to rest later today (11am) following his death on Saturday, June 29.

Synonymous with the licenced trade in Enniskillen for many decades, the 91-year-old was highly regarded for his career in the Melvin House or what was fondly referred to as 'Blakes of the Diamond' and now famous as Pat's Bar.

A true Enniskillener, having been born at 6 Church Street, he spent his working career in the bar trade and ended his working career at Blakes of the Hollow in the same building where he was born.

Mr. Blake was a popular fixture of many aspects of community life and his loss will be felt right across the community in Enniskillen and further afield.

He was predeceased by his wife, Philomena 'Mena' née Doorish and is survived his children, William, Breige and Paul, an SDLP Westminster election candidate.

Mr. Blake's funeral mass will take place today (Monday) at 11am at St. Michael's Church, Enniskillen and his remains will be buried at Cross Cemetary.
