Popular family-friendly music festival less than an hour away from Manchester offering £15 tickets

A popular music festival held in a 21.4 acre estate park in Lancashire which is regularly attended by thousands of people is offering £15 tickets for a limited time.

OAK FEST, which is held at Oak Hill Park in Hyndburn in Accrington, will feature a headline performance from Kate Nash and a DJ set from Happy Mondays legends Bez and Rowetta when it takes place on July 27, 2024.

Music fans will be able to easily get to the park by getting a train from Manchester Victoria Station and hopping on one of the free shuttle buses at Accrington Train Station or town centre, which will transport people directly into the festival site.

Also joining the line-up across two stages will include Jessica Winter, New Orleans brass and 90s dance fusion Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, DJ Simba, Amsterdam indie pop powerhouse Pip Blom and a magical rendition of ABBA hits from the Untold Orchestra.

Kate Nash’s headline appearance at the festival will arrive hot on the heels of her upcoming fifth studio album 9 Sad Symphonies, which will be released in June. She will also perform at Glastonbury Festival the same month.

With gates opening at 11am and running until 10pm, the festival will also feature free activities for kids to take part in, including a silent disco and craft workshops. There will also be a community makers market and independent street food stalls.

Until June 1, festival goers can get £15 tickets to the festival as part of a special early bird offer. Last year’s festival, which marked the first OAK FEST, was attended by more than 5,000 people.

The festival was commissioned as part of a culture and heritage programme delivered to the areas of Hyndburn and Accrington by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Lucy Dusgate, Head of Culture and Heritage for Hyndburn, said: “We couldn’t be more excited about the return of OAK FEST this July.

“We’re proud of the programme so far, offering great value for money and such a big and exciting programme. OAK FEST is part of a vision to make Hyndburn a place where residents can experience some of the best culture in the UK - we want the people of Hyndburn to be proud of Accrington and all it stands for.

“By creating a music festival that attracts established headliners, such as Kate Nash, we can also give performance opportunities to some of the incredible emerging local talent born here in Accrington. Our goal is to establish a creative eco system, where nationally recognised artists and high profile events can work together with homegrown talent that is supported by grassroots investment. We can’t wait to welcome the people of Accrington and beyond to Oak Hill Park for an amazing second year!”

£15 tickets to the festival will be available to buy here until June 1. Early bird family tickets will also be available for £55. OAK FEST will take place at Oak Hill Park in Hyndburn, Accrington on July 27.
