Police used tear gas to clear protesters in Portland, Oregon, after a riot was declared on the night of June 30.
Portland Police said there was “criminal activity occurring in the crowd” and that if protesters did not disperse from the area around North Lombard Street, near the Portland Police Association, they would be “subject to arrest or use of force, to include crowd control munitions.”
The police later said that CS gas, a type of tear gas, had been used. A warning of its use can be heard in this video. Credit: @Gravemorgan via Storyful
