Potter Spinoff Film To Hold London Auditions

Potter Spinoff Film To Hold London Auditions

An open casting call is being held to find a new young star for the Harry Potter spinoff film Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Warner Bros have already cast the major roles in JK Rowling's film, including Eddie Redmayne as the main character, magizoologist Newt Scamander.

Now they want to find a girl aged between eight and 12 to play Modesty, a "haunted young girl with an inner strength and stillness".

Auditions will be held from 9am on Saturday at the Excel Centre in London.

Hopefuls must be available for filming between August and January.

The film, written by Rowling, is inspired by the textbook of the same name given to pupils at Hogwarts school but there will be no sign of the teenage wizard.

It starts in New York 70 years before Harry's story begins.

Fantastic Beasts will be directed by David Yates who also made the final four Harry Potter films for Warner Bros.

The seven Potter films turned its young British cast of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint into global names.

As the appetite for Harry Potter appears to show no sign of waning, the successful applicant for this film could end up on the same trajectory to fame.

Last month it was announced that the wizard will be coming to London's West End in the play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.

:: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is due for release in November 2016.
