Power fans call Netflix "useless" and demand money back

From Digital Spy

There's a special place in hell for people who post spoilers – and then there's Netflix, which allows this kind of anarchy to happen and does NOTHING.

Yep, in case you didn't know, Power aired on Sunday evening in its usual slot on the US TV channel Starz – but just when the penultimate episode (which, FYI, is one of the most game-changing episodes in the series) was about to reach the UK on Monday, Netflix suffered a technical screw-up that meant everyone saw spoilers of episode 9 online but didn't actually see the show until it became available to stream this morning.

Having lived a whole 24 hours in solitary confinement in order to avoid any form of spoiler activity, only for it to be ruined in a single evening, the UK population is suitably outraged.

Taking to Twitter, one disgruntled viewer wrote: "Not impressed! I legit just saw the biggest spoiler on Instagram and now I want compensation for the trauma I'm going through," while someone else said: "Absolute joke considering @NetflixUK have been advertising this episode of #Power for the last week!!!"

Branding it a "f**k-up", others added: "This is the reason people choose to use the illegal sites on the internet – what are we actually paying for?" and: "This week's episode brought to you by disappointment."

Netflix UK posted a statement to its Twitter saying: "We feel your #Power pain and we're so sorry for the delay.

"We're working on it and will let you know as soon as it's up."

But this only caused more outrage as the Power hashtag started trending and yep, you guessed it, even more spoilers were revealed.

Replying to Netflix UK's message, subscribers tweeted the streaming service provider demanding their money back for this month, and some even claimed they were cancelling their Netflix membership there and then.

"If it's not uploaded by the time Monday night football is finished, I'm cancelling my subscription," one person wrote.

Other Power fans branded the company "useless" tweeting the likes of...

"You're telling me it takes 14 hours to fix whatever the problem was & upload the episode?"

"A multimillion pound company and they can't re-upload 1 episode of a show in the space of 20 hours?"

"You really expect people to pay a monthly subscription for this.. All you need to do is upload one episode to a bloody server!"

"Netflix you're taking the mick! What you going to do to compensate us paying customers??"

"£2.6 billions in revenue and you can't add a 59 mins video? Credit card removed!"

Even Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy in the hit series, waded in, tweeting: "Keep 'em happy Netflix!!!"
