PRIDE is heading to one Herefordshire town for the very first time this month.
Bromyard's first Pride festival is gearing up to take place from July 5 to July 7, promising a weekend full of exciting events, performances, and activities for all ages.
Organisers said the festival aims to promote the interests of the local and regional LGBTQIA+ community centred around the rural market town.
Rural locations are often more isolated for minority groups and do not have the recognition or support that is more commonly found in larger metropolitan areas," said chair Anna Hanson.
The weekend will include a varied programme of events for participants and attendees of all ages and backgrounds. The aim is to be as inclusive as possible while the festival will take place within the town centre itself.
The festival will kick off with a grand opening event at The Conquest Theatre in Tenbury Road from 7pm to 11pm on July 5, featuring acoustic entertainment, welcome speeches, and a special screening of “Down There the Sea Folk Live,” a short film by Rosen Stanley Greengrass.
The main event will be the screening of the award-winning film "Pride", celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased via the Conquest Theatre website (over 15s only).

Saturday, July 6, will be a day of celebration, with a Pride walk and gathering heading through the town centre from 11.30am to 12pm. This will be free to all.
From midday to 5pm, a 'crafternoon' market will take place at the Old Crown and Sceptre in Sherford Street, offering face painting, a drag makeup workshop, and family entertainment, which is also free and suitable for all ages.
A wine tasting with local cheese and charcuterie will take place from 3pm to 5pm at The Bakehouse in Broad Street. Over 18s only, tickets are £35.
And a cabaret will take place from 6pm to 11pm at the Old Crown and Sceptre, with performances from MC Philli Mi Up, Deepfake Country and Dungeons and Drag Kings. Tickets are £7.50 in advance or £10 at the door (over 18s only).
A free Pride market will take place in the Market Square from 10am to 1pm on July 7, promising local food, drink, crafts, and live entertainment.
