Virginia Giuffre urges Prince Andrew to 'do the right thing' and talk to the FBI

Prince Andrew has been told to “do the right thing” and speak to the FBI by the woman who alleges she had sex with the duke after being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein as a teenager.

Virginia Giuffre said on social media that the royal should present himself for interview with American investigators over his friendship with the paedophile, who killed himself in custody last year.

Ms Giuffre claims she was trafficked by Epstein and alleged on the BBC’s Panorama that she had a sexual encounter with the prince in London in 2001.

The duke categorically denies having had any kind of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Giuffre and said he would help any law enforcement agency.

Ms Giuffre said the world is over “the lies, the cover ups and the simple fact that privilege buys your way out of facing the music”.

She shared the tweet with a mock FBI wanted poster from the Sun.

The poster pokes fun at Prince Andrew’s claim that he was unable to sweat during a time when Ms Giuffre alleges she encountered him, having described the royal as sweating profusely.

US attorney Geoffrey Berman said on Monday that Prince Andrew has provided “zero cooperation” and said the Duke of York’s lawyers had been contacted.

Prince Andrew was later reported to be “angry and bewildered” at the claims, with the Telegraph quoting a source as saying: “The duke is more than happy to talk to the FBI but he hasn’t been approached by them yet.”

Reports later said the investigators stood by their comments that they had tried to contact Andrew’s lawyers.
