It seems like just yesterday that Kate Middleton emerged from St. Mary’s hospital and welcomed the birth of her first child - but this weekend Prince George will celebrate his 4th birthday.

From royal tours to family holidays and his first steps, the world has watched the young prince grow up right before our eyes.

And while Saturday will undoubtedly be spent with cake, balloons and blowing out candles, the future king has spent the run-up to his big day on an official tour of Poland and Germany with his parents.

George and younger sister Princess Charlotte have stolen the show during the royal visit, despite only having been spotted upon their arrival in Poland on Monday and then again upon their landing in Germany on Wednesday.

The cheeky prince entertained himself on the runway by pulling some funny faces at the cameras as the Royal Family landed at Tegel airport.

This year is set to be a big one for the royal tot, as he is enrolled to start school in September. Duchess Kate Middleton has already said she is not sure George,“has any idea what’s going to hit him” when he begins full-time education later in the year.

George will be joining selective private day school Thomas’s Battersea in September, where the most important rule for its 540 students is to “be kind”.

The Duchess has previously said that the prince is a “really lovely little boy”, but has a “noisy” streak.

George and Charlotte also enjoyed a leading role as pageboy and bridesmaid at Pippa Middleton’s wedding earlier in May, where the youngster was told off for standing on the train of the bride’s dress.
