Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been in the spotlight again after their three-day Invictus Games trip to Nigeria earlier this month. The visit, which was branded a "mini royal tour" by some critics came hot on the heels of Harry's solo whirlwind stop in the UK for a ten-year anniversary celebration of the event in London. The Duke of Sussex didn't meet his father King Charles during his stopover in the UK, or other members of his family, as relations continue to be tense.

But this time last year, we reported Harry was reportedly fretting over his and Meghan Markle's prospects in the US, an insider revealed.

Since their high-profile departure from royal duties and relocation from the UK to California in 2020, it was being reported that a return to British shores could have been on the cards for the Sussexes earlier than anticipated.

The insider alleged that the duke was "panicking" about their financial situation after their $25m deal with Spotify was terminated.

The same week also brought news that the Sussexes failed to secure an Emmy nomination for their explosive 2022 Netflix documentary series.

In an attempt to quell his concerns, Harry is said to have sought counsel from his elder sibling, Prince William.

The source suggested: "Harry is starting to wonder if they made the right decision leaving England. He's even suggested to Meghan that they return to London and the Royal Family".

However, it was reported that Meghan had reservations about moving back to the UK and was "taken aback" by Harry's outreach to William, after it was claimed he got in touch with his brother to discuss a potential return to London "where they would serve King Charles".

The insider told In Touch: "Harry needs a Plan B," and added: "William didn't quite know what to say."

They added that King Charles allegedly told Harry he would "think about his offer".

Harry and Meghan have been vocal about their time within the Royal Family, levelling a series of bombshell claims against Harry's kin in their tell-all Netflix documentary.

In the series, Harry took aim at both King Charles Prince William, alleging a confrontation where he was purportedly verbally attacked by William, leaving him terrified.

The couple also shed light on what they described as the less-than-favourable treatment Meghan received from the Royal Family members.

Despite not securing an Emmy Nomination, the documentary was shortlisted for a Hollywood Critics Award in the Best Streaming Nonfiction category
