Prince William has offered a rare insight into Kate Middleton's well-being as the Princess of Wales continues with her cancer treatment.

The Prince of Wales provided this reassuring update today during several commitments in North-East England where he met finalists of his Earthshot Prize award in Seaham, County Durham.

He also travelled to Newcastle where he inaugurated James' Place and learned about the essential support the new centre will provide for men undergoing suicidal crises in the region.

As William reached Newcastle to support the suicide prevention charity, he was warmly greeted by royal enthusiasts donned in union jack flags and holding bouquets, who had positioned themselves outside in anticipation of his arrival, the Mirror reports.

Amongst them was Julie Cain, 60, who dared ask the Prince: "Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are? " To which William responded: "All doing well, thank you. Yes, we're doing well."

During his visit, the prince also crossed paths with a rather mischievous three year old named Kevin who, in an attempt to catch the royal's attention, fibbed about it being his birthday.

The toddler was overjoyed when the royal knelt down, shook his hand and enquired about whether he'd had any cake.

Subsequently, employees at Little Lotus Nursery confessed that it wasn't Kevin's birthday after all - the little one had concocted the story out of eagerness to converse with the Prince.

Six year old Sadie Stewart presented Prince William with a card to celebrate his 13th wedding anniversary during his visit to James' Place, a charity focused on male suicide prevention.

The schoolgirl, accompanied by her mum Carole, 48, and brother Miles, 13, said: "It was very, very good to chat to him. He is really nice. He is showing his children the card later which makes me very happy. I'm going to tell everyone at school."

Inside the charity's premises, the Prince of Wales officially opened the building and learned about the vital work the charity does in an area with the highest rates of male suicide in England.

James' Place is the third centre opened by the charity, established in 2008 by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley following the tragic suicide of their son James, a Newcastle University student who took his own life at just 21 when he couldn't find the urgent help he needed for his suicidal thoughts.

Prince William attentively listened to Dean Stewart, 31, from Gateshead, as he shared his struggle with self-harm stemming from a gambling addiction.

Following the royal visit, Mr Stewart praised James' Place for its significant help over four months, revealing that he is now studying to become a counsellor.

He expressed confidence that the prince's visit will "one million per cent" help save other men's lives by raising awareness of the facility, which accepts self-referrals.

During his visit to Seaham, Prince William dropped by Low Carbon Materials to discover their innovative carbon negative product for the construction sector.

Donning a white lab coat and safety goggles, the prince was shown the ropes of creating and testing carbon-negative concrete samples with Osto.

He engaged with representatives from National Highways, which collaborates with Low Carbon Materials, and chatted with investors and board members at the company.

In a light-hearted moment, William quipped about the potential of the product: "There'll be no more potholes," referencing the common frustration among drivers.

The prince expressed his enthusiasm for the environmental potential of the product, saying: "How do we get more people to see it... and know that this stuff is genuinely on the way to providing net zero roads, in theory, the full cycle of net zero homes.

"I mean there's a world of things we could be doing here. I just think these guys are on to something."

Wrapping up his visit, William had a warm exchange with Andrea Newton from Houghton-le-Spring, who introduced her six-month-old grandson Luca to the royal.

With a smile, he wished them well: "Hope he sleeps alright later," and graciously posed for a photograph with them.

Prince William is gradually resuming his royal engagements after the Easter holidays, following the brave revelation by his wife, the Princess of Wales, about her cancer diagnosis and ongoing chemotherapy treatment last month.

In a touching gesture just one day after their 13th wedding anniversary, William and Kate delighted their followers by releasing an enchanting, previously unseen photograph from their private collection.

The significant anniversary arrives amidst Kate's courageous battle with cancer, having started chemotherapy earlier this year. When she bravely disclosed her condition last month, she requested respect for her privacy during her treatment period.

To the joy of their admirers, the couple commemorated their special day by sharing an exclusive black and white image on their official social media channels, capturing a moment from their nuptials in 2011.

The charming photo depicts the couple in a moment of relaxed joy at Buckingham Palace post-nuptials, with Kate adorned in her exquisite Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress and veil, while William is seen affectionately placing his hand on his wife's waist.

The intimate snapshot was captured by Millie Pilkington, their personal photographer for the day, who was commissioned to take more spontaneous shots of the duo throughout their wedding celebrations.

Accompanying the release of the photo was the simple yet poignant caption: "13 years today! "

Kate, who was in a relationship with William for eight years before they got hitched, previously lauded her husband for his support in an emotional announcement to the nation last month about her health situation, stating it had been "an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family".

She added: "Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance."

Kate, 42, expressed how her diagnosis had come as a massive shock and that she and William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family".
