The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a beautiful unseen wedding photo from their private collection to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary today.

This significant day comes as the Duchess is undergoing chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year. When she announced the news, she requested time, space, and privacy as she continues her treatment.

However, today, the Royal couple commemorated the special occasion by posting a never-before-seen black and white photograph on their official social media pages from their wedding day in 2011.

The picture captures the couple smiling at the camera, with Kate in her Alexander McQueen wedding dress and William in his military uniform. The photo was taken at Buckingham Palace by their personal photographer, Millie Pilkington, who was hired to capture more candid moments of the couple.

The photo was captioned: "13 years today! ", reports the Mirror.

Kate, who had been dating William for eight years before they got married, praised her husband for his support in an emotional message to the nation last month when she announced her health news. She said it had been "an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family".

She added: "Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance."

Kate, 42, explained that her diagnosis had come as a huge shock and that she and William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family".

After enjoying a quality family holiday during the Easter break with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Prince William has gotten back to his Royal duties. The little one Louis rang in his sixth birthday on Tuesday, while Charlotte will turn nine on Thursday.

Prince William and Kate sparked joy among Royal watchers by releasing an untouched photo of Louis to social media to celebrate his latest milestone, thanking well-wishers and sidestepping any potential controversy following the fuss over a digitally modified Mother's Day photograph of the princess.

The Duke of Cambridge is set to engage in various commitments up in the North East this week, including visiting an Earthshot Prize finalist company that creates low-carbon construction materials in Seaham, County Durham. Additionally, he'll 'cut the ribbon' at James's Place in Newcastle on Tuesday a facility offering life-saving treatments gratis to men contemplating suicide.

Having been together north of 20 years, William and Kate first bumped into each other at Scotland's University of St Andrews in Fife, where friendship blossomed before romance took centre stage. Reflecting on their relationship during the engagement interview, William shared: "Obviously we both have a very fun time together, both have a very good sense of humour about things."

Kate fondly referred to William as a 'loving boyfriend', expressing that he was "very supportive of me through the good times and also through the bad times". The pair famously tied the knot in an opulent fairytale-like ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29 2011, with trees lining the aisles of the gothic church for a touch of enchantment.

The bride was adorned in a detailed ivory dress with lace floral applique, crafted by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, while the groom donned the red tunic of the Irish Guards. The couple welcomed their firstborn George in 2013, followed by Charlotte in 2015 and Louis in 2018.

Their journey has been marked by highs and lows, from the birth of their children and Jubilee celebrations to the passing of the Queen and the recent cancer diagnosis of the King. They have maintained their silence amidst allegations thrown at them by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following Harry and Meghan's departure from the Royal family.
