Princess Anne has been discharged from hospital after five nights of treatment for minor head injuries and concussion sustained from a horse-related incident on her Gatcombe Park estate.

The King's sister, aged 73, was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol following the accident that occurred whilst walking on her Gloucestershire property last Sunday evening.

Leaving unseen on Friday morning, she privately returned to her country residence near Minchinhampton, which is a 30-mile distance from the hospital.

Expressing gratitude post discharge, Anne's spouse, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence stated: "I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise and kindness during my wife's short stay."

Due to the concussion, the detailed account of the incident remains uncertain.

According to her medical team, the Princess's head injuries align with possible encounter from either a horse's head or legs.
