Princess Anne was pictured at home relaxing in front of the rugby this weekend, and royal fans were loving how homely, cosy and "normal" her living room looked.

The Queen's official Instagram account shared the photo, which featured Anne sitting on the sofa next to husband Sir Timothy Laurence as they watched Scotland play England during the Rugby Six Nations. Princess Anne is Patron of Scottish rugby, and was cheering Scotland on, with the team eventually beating England.

"As @scotlandteam Patron, The Princess Royal often supports the team from the stands," the caption read.

"Her Royal Highness and Vice Admiral Sir Tim cheered Scotland on from home today as they played England for the Calcutta Cup, 150 years since their first match. Well played, Scotland!"

Royal fans were enjoying how much her sitting room looked like their own, with one remarking: "A standard front room/lounge ... Love it - feels like home."

"I love Princess Anne. I bet she's had that sofa for 50 years," another wrote.

Another fan added: "I love the normalcy of this photo!"

Princess Anne, who turned 70 last year, is known for being laid-back and often going against royal convention, breaking with royal tradition by choosing not to give her children Peter and Zara HRH titles when they were born.

Anne and Sir Tim mainly reside at Gatcombe Park, their private country home in Gloucestershire. The Grade II-listed manor house is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, and just a few miles away from Highgrove, Prince Charles' home in nearby Tetbury.

Meanwhile, equestrian star Zara is expecting her third child with husband former rugby player Mike Tindall.

Prima has an exclusive trip to Gloucestershire in September, where TV gardener Christine Walkden will join a wonderful garden tour, including a visit to Prince Charles' Highgrove.
