Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelil Mozzi have welcomed their first child together and their baby will have an official title.

The royal baby, whose name has not yet been revealed, will be passed on the Italian title of Nobile Donna which translates to Noble Woman.

It does not come from the Royal family. Instead it comes from her father’s family and her dad’s official title is Count.

The property developer’s family was part of the Italian nobility before the country became a republic in 1946 which means his daughter will inherit one too.

Although they do not use them in everyday life, they retain their titles which are passed down from the father’s side.

The royal’s sister Princess Eugenie gave birth in February to her son August who does not have a title.

Buckingham Palace on Monday announced the birth of Princess Beatrice’s baby daughter at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

The happy couple are said to be delighted by the arrival of their daughter.

She was born at 11.42pm on September 18, weighing 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

The baby is the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild and she is currently 11th in line to the throne.

Her grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed of her safe arrival.

Why does Beatrice’s baby not have a Royal title?

Only the monarch’s children and grandchildren through the male line are entitled to Prince and Princess titles.

The precedent dates back to the reign of King George V more than 100 years ago.

As the Queen’s great-granddaughter, Beatrice’s baby is not entitled to a royal title from the Queen.
