In the midst of a global pandemic, Princess Eugenie has been busy cooking up something exciting: her first child. Last month, the royal announced that she and husband Jack Brooksbank were expecting a baby. We don't know exactly when it's due - the public has only been told baby Brooksbank will arrive in "early 2021" - but we do know Eugenie's baby bump is coming along nicely.

The 30-year-old granddaughter of the Queen has been photographed out in public a couple of times since sharing her happy news, most recently at an event for the charity the Princess co-founded, The Anti-Slavery Collective. In pictures shared on Instagram by the organisation, which aims to fight modern slavery by raising awareness and harnessing the power of change-makers, Eugenie and her bump can be seen in a navy floral dress and teal coat at a Salvation Army safe house.

The young royal was there for a socially distanced visit with modern slavery survivors and staff members, where they heard the courageous stories of the survivors who had endured long stretches of abuse at the hands of traffickers and slave labourers.

In one picture, the curvature of Princess Eugenie's burgeoning bump was just visible underneath a plant pot that had been made for her by the survivors she met.

It's still a few months until the newest royal baby is due to arrive, but we know Eugenie and Jack are very much looking forward to it; on her announcement post on Instagram, the Princess described how she and her husband are "so excited" to become parents. And Eugenie's mum, Sarah Ferguson, is also buzzing at the prospect of being a grandmother.

Posting a picture of her daughter and son-in-law on Instagram shortly after the news was first broken, Sarah wrote: "I am so excited by the news that Eugenie and Jack are expecting their first child. Thrilled for them both and in my 60th year cannot wait to be a grandmother. Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy."

The countdown continues!
