Princess Eugenie wore this season's hottest accessory for first official engagement with Jack Brooksbank

On Thursday afternoon Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank made their first official engagement since their royal wedding.

The 28-year-old donned a cream dress by Maje, a Parisian label which has become known for its feminine silhouettes.

The couple were joined by Prince Andrew as they visited the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London to open the new Stanmore Building. The princess underwent surgery at the hospital when she was a young girl in order to correct her scoliosis, the scar of which she revealed with a backless dress on her wedding day.

Eugenie wore Maje's £315 tweed-style trapeze dress, featuring demure three-quarter sleeves, a V neckline and toile A-line skirt.

Drawing similarities to her wedding day, Eugenie wore a statement hair accessory; this time swapping the dazzling tiara for one of spring/summer 2019's biggest accessory trends: a knotted headband.

It's currently hard to turn a London corner without seeing someone with the oversized band adorning their tresses. Eugenie opted for an edgy leather design, which you can recreate for as little as £7.99 on the high street.

Taking a cue from Meghan Markle's love of designer handbags, the young royal was seen carrying the instantly recognisable Nile bag by luxury fashion house Chloe that retails for £1,050.
