Pro-Palestine Activists Rally in Times Square After Hamas Attacks Israel

Several hundred protesters rallied and marched around Times Square in New York City on Sunday, October 8, after Hamas, the governing authority in Gaza, launched a major attack on Israel, which responded with multiple airstrikes across the Gaza Strip.

The group chanted slogans in support of Palestinian liberation, including “there is only one solution: intifada revolution” and “resistance is justified when people are colonized.”

Across the street from the rally, pro-Israeli counter-protesters waved Israeli flags and chanted the word “terrorists” at the pro-Palestinian group.

One pro-Palestinian activist, addressing the crowd, celebrates the incursions into Israeli territory carried out by fighters from Gaza.

“And as you might have seen, there was some sort of rave or desert party where they were having a great time until the resistance came in electrified hang-gliders and took at least several dozen hipsters,” he say, referring to an attack on the open-air Tribe of Nova music festival where Israeli officials said at least 260 bodies were found an unknown number of people were taken hostage. - They said, we have walls, we have cameras. Yes, we have traitors too. And there's nothing they can do that we won't see or what we do. They were so arrogant. But just less than 24 hours ago, on the land, from the sea, and from the air, the people of the Gaza Strip--

- Our farmers, the farmers of Gaza, you know they say that they can't even have tractors. They say that's terrorist equipment. Well, unfortunately for them, the tractors of these various so-called [INAUDIBLE] settlements have been liberated and taken back to the farms--

- --people. I think now I'd like to bring here, from the Palestinian youth movement, that helped us take the initiative to be here on the streets today, we'd like to welcome them to give you some words.
