Cops Shove Pro-Palestine Protesters Blocking MIT Parking Garage

Pro-Palestine protesters blocking a laboratory parking garage at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) were confronted by police officers on Wednesday, May 8, footage shows.

Footage filmed and posted to X by the Party for Socialism and Liberation shows several police officers shoving protesters lined up at a parking lot across the street from the Parsons Laboratory at MIT, where protesters say drone research is collaborated on with Israel. One police officer is seen pushing protesters away from cars attempting to exit the lot, while another officer is seen tossing a protester onto the ground. “Who do you serve, who do you protect,” protesters can be heard chanting.

Storyful has not been able to independently verify the claim that drone research funded by Israel is conducted at the building. MIT does, however, have funding arrangements for researchers at MIT and their counterparts in Israel.

The protest is part of an ongoing encampment in solidarity with Gaza at MIT. Credit: Party for Socialism and Liberation via Storyful
