Yahoo News Protesters Outside Columbia Gates Chant in Support of Qassam Brigades
Protesters gathered at Columbia University in New York City in support of Palestine on Wednesday, April 17, as the university’s president, Minouche Shafik, testified before a House committee on issues of antisemitism.
Demonstrators established an encampment on the campus’s South Lawn on Wednesday, followed by protests lasting into the night.
Footage shows people chanting, “al-Qassam, you make us proud, kill another soldier now,” in reference to Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades.
By Thursday morning, the NYPD was arresting student protesters refusing to disperse.
