Football enthusiasts at a Leeds pub decided to stick around for some post-match entertainment, opting to watch The Chase after the Euros games on Saturday (June 22).

The iconic Brudenell Social Club, a renowned music hotspot in Leeds that has welcomed acts like Yard Act, The Last Dinner Party, and Tom Tom Club, had set up an outdoor big screen for the public to catch the Euro matches.

However, post the Belgium v Romania game on Saturday evening, the venue faced a dilemma over what to broadcast next and settled on the quintessentially British quiz show.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) showcased the huge screen, emblazoned with the Brudenell Social Club banner, while Bradley Walsh's face loomed over the viewers.

The accompanying caption read: "I don't think they knew exactly what to put on the big screen after the football, so we're now watching a repeat of The Chase on a massive screen."

Twitter users chimed in with their approval, with some saying the venue was "doing exactly what I would if I was at home" by switching to The Chase. One user expressed it was their "dream" to watch The Chase in a pub, while another commented: "I mean, it's kinda standard for the Brudenell."

Another person added: "Finally, a social club that seems worth joining." The thread also sparked memories of other unexpected large-screen viewings. One user reminisced: "There used to be a massive screen in Liverpool city centre and one day they just had the snooker on. People shopping while John Virgo criticised a safety shot."

Another shared: "Was in a pub [once] that put Catchphrase on after the match had finished. We enjoyed it more than the football tbh." Meanwhile, another joked: "And they say British people have no culture".
