Pupils at prep school enjoy building hoop dens

Pupils at a preparatory school in Abingdon have been enjoying some time outdoors in the sunshine.

Children at the Manor Preparatory School in Faringdon Road have been creating dens made from hoops - a technique they learned in their PE classes.

School spokeswoman Charlotte Garside said: "Modern life is so busy, giving children the time and space to play and experiment with ideas is more important than ever.

"These children worked together to create their hoop dens, a trick they picked up from a PE club; what better way to develop their team work and problem-solving skills than just playing freely in the sun!"

The Manor school is a private school for boys and girls aged two to 11.

Its Georgian manor house occupies a nine-acre site, close to St Helen and Katharine school.
