Warning: The following article contains allegations of sexual assault that some readers may find offensive.

Former Pussycat Dolls star Kaya Jones has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by an unnamed record executive during her time with the band.

33-year-old Kaya was a mainstay of the girl group during their early days, but ultimately left before the Pussycat Dolls released their debut album PCD back in 2005.

Kaya is now speaking about a dark period during her days with the Dolls, in the wake of Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan, Cara Delevingne and Ashley Judd making completely unrelated accusations of sexual impropriety against Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Her own alleged assault took place when she was just 19 or 20 and was one of several traumatic incidents that Kaya says happened during her tenure with the Dolls.

"As just one example, a record executive asked me to get into his car and I accepted. We were in Las Vegas and we were all racing to get to the airport to take us back to LA after the show," she told the Daily Mail.

"It was just a 10-minute ride. I remember getting in the back seat of the limo with him and within seconds he jumped on me. I literally had to fight him off all the way to the airport."

Kaya also claimed that it was experiences like those in Las Vegas that ultimately led to her departure from the Pussycat Dolls before they became mega-stars.

"We were in Vegas and [a little girl] was with her mother and her older sister and she looked at me and said with awe: 'You're a Pussycat Doll'," Kaya remembered. "She had me with those words. It was like I was Wonder Woman in her eyes.

"I stopped and thought to myself: 'What are you doing? This girl wants to be me. If she succeeds she will have to cope with sexual predators and verbal and mental abuse, she'll suffer from eating disorders, she'll consider suicide'.

"I just thought I can't do it anymore. And I have absolutely no regrets at turning my back on the Pussycat Dolls."

Earlier this week, Kaya alleged that the Pussycat Dolls were "used and abused" as part of a "prostitution ring" - accusations that the group's founder and creative director Robin Antin called "disgusting, ridiculous lies".
