Queen Elizabeth's fav songs revealed

London, July 3 (ANI): One of the Queen's favourite songs is Cole Porter's classic blue hit 'Miss Otis Regrets', which is about a woman who kills her lover after being seduced and then abandoned by him, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber has revealed. According to the lyrics, she is then lynched by a mob and her final words are the apology: "Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today". The Queen's other top favorite song is show tune 'People Will Say We're in Love' from Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma. It premiered on Broadway in 1943, when the Queen was 17 - four years after she met Prince Philip and four before they wed. The song tells of a couple who are secretly in love. The music impresario included the two songs in an evening's entertainment for Her Majesty at his home to celebrate her birthday earlier this year. It came after he had produced the Diamond Jubilee theme Song. "We did the cake and there was a small cabaret," the Sun quoted Webber as telling Radio Times. "I was tipped off by someone close to her what some of her favourite songs are, so we put them in," he added. (ANI)
