A guide to every 'Mandalorian' character you should know for season 3
"The Mandlorian" season three has now premiered on Disney+.
The series follows a bounty hunter and a young Jedi journeying through the galaxy.
Here's a guide to the biggest names you should remember.
The main character in "The Mandalorian" is a bounty hunter named Din Djarin.
Mainly referred to simply as the Mandalorian or Mando, Din Djarin was raised in a Mandalore tribe, the Children of the Watch — a group of warriors living in hiding after their people were attacked by the Empire.
He was exiled by the group in "The Book of Boba Fett" but still seeks to return.
Din Djarin is joined on his travels by a young Jedi, Grogu.
In season one, Mando is hired by the Empire to capture Grogu because he is Force-sensitive. However, after connecting with the baby, the bounty hunter turns on his employer and gets Grogu to safety.
Now the pair travel the galaxy together.
Despite looking like a baby, Grogu is around 50 years old and has strong Force abilities as a young Jedi.
Greef Carga is an ally of the Mandalorian.
Greef Carga was a previous agent of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, the person who pays and hires bounty hunters like Mando. After helping Mando defeat the Empire in Nevarro, he became a magistrate for the planet to help restore it into a reputable place.
Doctor Pershing worked with the Client to try and acquire Grogu.
When the Mandalorian gets his new assignment from the Empire, a man named Doctor Pershing appears. This doctor wanted the "asset" (aka Grogu) to be acquired alive. He was hired to help experiment on Force-sensitive children to create clones for the Empire.
Kuill was an Ugnaught (a type of alien species) who helped the Mandalorian.
In season one, episode one, Mando is attacked by two Blurrgs on his way to find Grogu for the Empire. Kuill saves the bounty hunter, and helps him get to the building where the baby Jedi is being held. Unfortunately, the Ugnaught was killed in the season one finale while trying to protect Grogu from the Empire.
IG-11 is a bounty droid who was also commissioned to find Grogu.
Mando encounters the IG-11 assassin droid (voiced by "Thor: Love & Thunder" director Taika Waititi) when he is hunting Grogu in the series' premiere episode.
Later on in season one, IG-11 helped Mando protect Grogu. The droid ended up sacrificing itself by self-destructing to save Grogu and Mando from the Empire.
Cara Dune is another outcast fighter who joined the Mandalorian's efforts to protect Grogu.
Cara Dune is a former rebel shock trooper and mercenary who eventually met up with Mando in season one of the show.
In season two, the warrior helped Greef restore Nevarro, protecting the land as the new marshal. She was eventually hired as an official marshal for the New Republic.
Fennec Shand is a notorious assassin, who was left for dead on Tatooine but was discovered by a mysterious figure.
In season one, Mando teamed up with a less experienced bounty hunter to try and capture Fennec Shand.
The fight went poorly when Mando's temporary partner turned on him and left Shand for dead in the desert of Tatooine.
Shand's body was found by famous bounty hunter Boba Fett, who helped her recover. Together, they helped Mando take on the Empire in season two before starting their own crime family on Tatooine.
Peli Motto is a Tatooine resident, who helps the Mandalorian fix his ship.
Peli Motto first appeared in season one of "The Mandalorian" when the titular character needed his Razor Crest ship repaired. She grew fond of Grogu during his stay with her.
She has appeared multiple times in the series to support Mando.
Moff Gideon is the main antagonist and leader of the Imperial group trying to capture Grogu.
Played by "Breaking Bad" star Giancarlo Esposito, Moff Gideon is another Imperial loyalist. He is the leader of the Empire unit that attempted to kidnap Grogu. At the end of season two, he was defeated and handed over to the New Republic to be punished for his crimes.
Sheriff Cobb Vanth is another Tatooine resident who teams up with the Mandalorian.
In the season two premiere of "The Mandalorian," Cobb Vanth was introduced as a gunslinger protector of a small, unmarked town in the Tatooine desert.
Unfortunately, in "The Book of Boba Fett," Cobb was killed by the bounty hunter Cad Bane.
Boba Fett is a bounty hunter from the original "Star Wars" movies.
Boba Fett was first introduced in the original "Star Wars" trilogy as a bounty hunter working for the Empire. The character appeared to have died by falling into a Sarlacc pit in "Return of the Jedi."
"The Book of Boba Fett" explains that Boba's Mandalorian armor kept him safe in the pit and allowed him to escape. Now, Boba is a crime boss on Tatooine.
Ahsoka Tano originally appeared in the "Star Wars" animated series.
During the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker had his own padawan — or Jedi apprentice — to teach, Ahsoka Tano. While her adventures are mainly shown in the animated "Star Wars" series, Tano made the jump to live-action in "Mandalorian" season two.
Tano is a former Jedi turned outcast trying to fulfill her promise to save a padawan who was lost during the rebel fight against the Empire.
Bo-Katan Kryze is an important figure from Mandalore.
Bo-Katan Kryze is another character that was previously introduced in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."
Bo-Katan was a member of a Mandalorian terrorist group called Deathwatch that tried to restore Mandalore to its true power. After Mandalore was taken over by the Empire, Bo-Katan worked with rebels to defeat them. However, the Empire destroyed all of Mandalore so that they would not have to deal with the faction that took over.
Now, Bo-Katan is trying to rally the remaining Mandalorians across the galaxy to restore the planet's former glory.
The Armorer is the leader of the Children of the Watch.
The Armorer is the leader of Mando's tribe, the Children of the Watch. Part of their creed is that they should never take off their helmet, meaning fans have never seen what's under their helmets.
She leads the tribe to follow the Way of the Mandalore since she believes that leaving that path is what led Mandalore to its destruction.
Luke Skywalker made his return in the season two finale of "The Mandalorian."
Original trilogy hero Luke Skywalker made a cameo at the end of "The Mandalorian" season two.
He is the son of the Empire's greatest warrior, Darth Vader, also known as Anakin Skywalker. However, he helped the rebels to defeat the Empire and its leader, Darth Sidious. Now Luke is looking to restore the Jedi Order.
Captain Carson Teva appeared several times in "The Mandalorian" season two.
Captain Carson Teva was a captain in the Rebel Alliance and now serves the New Republic. He has appeared multiple times in the series as a reminder that the New Republic is now in charge.
