Race Across the World's Betty shares fertility plans after health struggles
Race Across the World's siblings Betty and James were brought closer together after the race
What did you miss?
In Race Across the World's reunion episode, Betty revealed she has frozen her eggs after sharing she has Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH) which means she was born without a uterus.
As Race Across the World was coming close to an end, Betty had an open conversation with her brother James about her life-changing condition. James sobbed and asked the cameraman for a hug in emotional scenes that tugged on the heartstrings of viewers at home.
Now the older sibling shared the race had spurred her on to take action when it came to her fertility and she had since frozen her eggs. In a piece to camera, she admitted to her brother that he might not know this but he revealed he had asked his parents about it after overhearing a conversation at the family home.
What, how and why?
Betty told the cameras on the reunion show: "I've been a lot more proactive in certain areas of my life. James might not actually know this. My fertility side of things, I've decided to freeze my eggs which is a big thing."
James admitted he did know about Betty's plans because he had spoken to their parents about it. He confessed: "I did know, only because mum and dad told me. Well, they were talking about it. And I asked!"
Betty fought the tears when she shared her exciting news with the world. "It's exciting, I think before I would have been quite scared about that," she said. As her eyes welled up with tears, she explained her reasoning behind freezing her eggs. She said: "It's about saying that."
She paused to then add: "There's an opportunity there and I'm going to take it because I'm worthy of having that opportunity."

Betty's health struggles
In the penultimate episode, Betty told her brother James about her life-changing condition. Both siblings and the audience were left in tears following the emotional conversation that unfolded.
She told him and the cameras: "Shortly after my 16th birthday I got diagnosed with MRKH - it means I don't have a uterus, I don't have a womb, and I only have one kidney as well.
"As a young woman you're told you're going to marry, you're going to have a family and from a young age when that's taken away from you it does put doubts in your mind about your purpose as a person."
She told James: "At 16 I felt something was taken away from me that I couldn't control."
At the end of the race, Betty revealed she found the positivity she had been searching for was at home with her the whole time - in the form of her younger brother who always looks on the bright side of life.
The race brought the pair closer together. Betty shared James' text to her after the race was one of her proudest moments. She told Yahoo: "I think one of my proudest moments actually was coming back from the race and getting a text from James saying, 'I think I might have lied. I actually think I might want to go travelling’.
"Because before he was like, 'I'm not going travelling. I'm not.' So that made me feel like, yeah, I'm proud of him for that."
Where did Betty and James come in Race Across the World?
Betty and James celebrated when they came third in the race after facing a series of delays including losing their passports twice, going in the wrong direction and more.
