Rangers transfer news as Todd Cantwell could be flogged amid James Tavernier uncertainty

Todd Cantwell and James Tavernier could BOTH leave Rangers this summer.

Philippe Clement's Ibrox rebuild on the park is going better than the one off it as building delays mean Rangers will need to play away from Ibrox during August. And it won't just be the surroundings that are unfamiliar as the Belgian boss rings the changes. Connor Barron is set to sign a four-year deal after leaving Aberdeen and Bayern Munich wind man Yusuf Kabadayi could join him. That's in addition to capturing Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Clinton Nsiala already being brought in this summer.

Now the Scottish Sun reports Rangers are willing to listen to offers for Cantwell. He was previous manager Michael Beale's first new signing in January 2023, but hasn't enjoyed the same trust from Clement and found himself in and out of the team, while cryptic social media posts have led fans to speculate that the former Norwich City star could be about to me shipped out.

And Tavernier is another facing an uncertain Ibrox future. The highest scoring British defender of all time is one year away from a Rangers testimonial after initially arriving under Mark Warburton in 2015. He's spent the last six years as Light Blues' captain, but his time in Govan could be coming to an end with Steven Gerrard keen to take the right back to Al-Ettifaq, along with central defender Connor Goldson as revealed by Record Sport earlier this summer.

The duo would be the latest Ibrox stalwarts to be moved on. John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Ryan Jack all left under freedom of contract. Lundstram is expected to join Trabzonspor on a big money contract. The arrivals haven't finished either. Clement is on the hunt for a new striker and £1.5million deal for Moroccan hitman Hamza Igamane is thought to be edging closer.
