P Diddy's waxwork decapitated by mystery vandal

Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Diddy, and most recently ‘Love’, has had his waxwork at Madame Tussauds in New York destroyed.

An unidentified vandal reportedly shouted at, knocked over, and decapitated the rapper’s waxwork, before fleeing the scene.

The NYPD have confirmed that a man entered the museum shortly before 9pm on Saturday (16 February) and proceeded to travel up to the ninth floor of the tourist attraction and attack the 49-year-old music mogul’s waxwork.

The police statement explained that the attack led to the ‘causing the head to come loose from the body’ and it is estimated that the man caused at least ‘$300,000 damage’ (£232,125).

Diddy’s waxwork was unveiled in 2009, and sits on the ‘A-List Party Room’ floor where visitors of the attraction are encouraged to interact and pose for photos with the celebrity waxworks.

According to AP, Madame Tussauds New York says it will restore Diddy’s waxwork as soon as possible, and reinstate it with its fellow famous waxworks.

While it remains unknown what prompted the mystery vandal to attack the waxwork, Combs is not a public figure free from controversy.

He played a central role in the infamous West Coast vs. East Coast rap rivalry of the mid 1990’s that saw the shocking, and as of yet unresolved, deaths of rappers Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G.

The latter of whom was a close friend of Combs and assassinated while sitting next to him in their car in Los Angeles on 9 March, 1997.

Combs is a rapper, music producer and also a fashion, fragrance and alcohol mogul. He has won three Grammy Awards and as of 2018 has an estimated net worth of $825 million (£638.6 million).

Combs has yet to publicly respond to the Madame Tussauds incident.
