Raspberry Pi 2 microcomputer goes on sale for less than £25
Tiny device that helps children learn computer programming gets an upgrade, making it six times more powerful
The budget single-board Raspberry Pi 2 Model B microcomputer, designed to help children learn computer programming, packs more processing power and memory than its predecessor and costs less than £25.
Sold as a standalone motherboard, the tiny device is exactly the same size as its older sibling, but six times more powerful with twice the amount of memory. What's more, start-up time has been slashed in half.
The original Raspberry Pi was launched back in 2012 and was an instant hit with schools, engineers, enthusiasts and startups. A whopping 4.5million units have reportedly been sold.

Students and hobbyist have used the device for numeous projects including writing computer games, creating robots and creating home music hubs.
The new version will be capable of running a Pi-friendly version of Windows 10, which will be free of charge.
UK-based rival Imagination Technlogies recently released its own mini-computer in the form of the MIPS Creator CI20.
The Raspberry Pi 2 is available now from RS Components and Element 14.
