‘Reacher’ Wrestles Past 1B Minutes Viewed In Season 2’s Debut Week; ‘My Life With The Walter Boys,’ ‘The Crown’ Also Join Billion-Minute Club

Prime Video’s Reacher is once again attracting a hefty audience for Amazon.

With the release of the first two episodes of Season 2, the series soared to No. 2 on the Nielsen streaming charts with 1.7B minutes viewed from December 11 to 17. This is pretty similar to the interest it got during the week that Season 1 was released, except all eight episodes dropped at once that time around.

While Nielsen doesn’t release viewership data separated by season, it’s likely that a hefty portion of Reacher’s numbers in December came from Season 2 viewing. That makes it all the more impressive, considering there were only two new episodes. Based on the viewing during this interval, it’s safe to say Reacher will probably stick around the Nielsen charts for several weeks.

Leave The World Behind spent another week at No. 1 with just shy of 2B minutes viewed. That puts it at around 3.3B minutes viewed in its first 10 days of availability on Netflix.

At #1 overall — Netflix’s Leave The World Behind came in just shy of 2B minutes this week, after adding 31M more than last week’s total. That makes for a total of 3.3B viewing minutes in its first 10 days of availability on Netflix.

Sam Esmail’s thriller is very close to making its way onto Netflix’s most popular film list, pushing Extraction 2 out of the top 10. Here’s the latest stats from the streamer. From the looks of it, Leave the World Behind isn’t going anywhere on the Nielsen charts for a while.

Young Sheldon maintained another week of strong viewership with 1.4B minutes. Since that series landed on Netflix, it has put up some startlingly high numbers — just another example of how Netflix can amplify titles in a way that other streamers cannot.

The Crown came in fourth place with 1.2B minutes viewed following the release of the final installment of the series.

Rounding out the top five was another billion minute club member, My Life With The Walter Boys. No wonder Netflix handed the YA series a renewal so quickly.
