Redwater viewers wanted a "You ain't my muvva!" moment
EastEnders spin-off Kat and Alfie: Redwater has returned for its second episode and one which promised a big reveal – and it definitely delivered in that area.
So now we're two instalments in, has the show managed to shake off its soapy title and make everyone warm to all the new characters?

Well, not exactly – some viewers have absolutely no interest in any of the other characters at all and would prefer it to just be about Kat and Alfie's journey.
The problem with #Redwater is its focus on characters that aren't #KatandAlfie. I've literally no interest in all these randoms. #EastEnders

#Redwater needed to be more focus of kat and Alfie.I forget it's about them when they are not in scene

This programme needs more Kat and Alfie. I am struggling to give a toss about the rest of them. #Redwater

But others thought moving it away from a soap style makes it a more unique show.
What I like the most about #redwater is if you didn't watch #eastenders you'd never think they come from a soap. Play the roles brilliantly

#redwater brilliantly and strongly stands on its own from #EastEnders not only that but its highly entertaining and enjoyable

So what about THAT twist?
The whole reason Kat and Alfie made the trip over to Ireland was to find her long-lost son and it turns out he's the murdering priest, Father Dermott. Delightful.
Though having Tommy discover the bombshell and pass it onto Kat was quite an understated take on it. Some really missed a "You ain't my muvva" moment.
There were a few tiny scandals that could cause some pre-watershed problems.
And there was a lot of confusion as to why Kat and Alfie's twins weren't there. Kat did mention to Tommy that they were back in Spain (lucky them, eh?) but they were sorely missed.
Redwater continues next Thursday (June 1) at 8pm on BBC One.
