Rent The London Flat From Cult TV Show Spaced

The flat featured in Spaced, the TV comedy that helped launch the career of Simon Pegg, is available to rent.

However, fans of the Channel 4 show will be saddened to learn that the property is now five times more expensive than it was in 1999 show.

The Tufnell Park house played a central part in the series, which saw Tim Bisley (Pegg) and Daisy Steiner (Jessica Hynes, née Stevenson) move in together as a fake couple to save money on rent.

Back then, the apartment was on the market for a fictional (but believable) £90 a week – as opposed to today’s £460 per week.

It’s marketed by Zoopla as a spacious, refurbished two double bedroom flat in a Grade II listed period building.

But, as the pictures show, the flat’s interior bears little resemblance to the scruffy house in Spaced, packed with sci-fi paraphernalia and women’s mags.

With current London rent prices, it’s hard to believe that Tim – who worked in a comic-book shop – and Daisy – an aspiring, but feckless, feature journalist – could ever dream of affording to rent the property.

It’s not the first time the flat has been on the market – having been up for rent in 2010 – and remains a place of pilgrimage for fans of Spaced.

The series, written by Pegg, directed by Edgar Wright and featuring Nick Frost, paved the way for the ‘Cornetto’ trilogy of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.

Pegg is now a Hollywood star, having appeared in Star Trek and Mission: Impossible.
