Kings Langley residents have shared their support after a farm shop shut temporarily due to a “family emergency”.

Wayside Farm, in Watford Road, operates a shop which sells raw milk from its herd of Jersey cows as well as meat and vegetables from other small producers.

In a post on its Facebook page yesterday (July 2), the farm said: “Due to a family emergency, the farm shop will be closed this week, I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from locals as one said they were “thinking of you and sending good wishes to you all”.

Another commented: “Family comes first. People won't suffer by missing out for one week. Priorities are family, other things can wait.

“I hope everything works out for the best for the family.”

According to its website, Wayside Farm has been run by farmer Charlie Wray since 1980 and is one of just two Jersey cow dairy farms in Hertfordshire.
