A bistro in Cheltenham has announced its closure to customers. The French restaurant, L'Artisan in Clarence Street, has said their customers have made the establishment 'a place of sharing and conviviality'.

L'Artisan has been welcoming customers through its doors for 11 years. The team have been offering the people of Cheltenham and further afield a French dining experience, and customers are sad to hear the news of the closure.

The closure of L'Artisan was announced on Friday morning (June 28) on Instagram. One customer wrote: "This certainly is the end of an era, and you will be missed." Another customer said: "Devastated to hear this. Such amazing memories and we have always enjoyed our meals there."

The post from the team read: "My Dear Customers, Mes Chers Clients, It is with great emotion that we announce the closure of our restaurant, L’Artisan French Bistro.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude for your loyalty and support over the past 11 years. You have helped make L’Artisan a place of sharing and conviviality, and we have been honoured to welcome and serve you.

"Your presence and encouragement have been an invaluable source of motivation for us. Every moment shared with you has been precious and will remain etched in our memories.

"We hope that you will keep fond memories of your time with L’Artisan.

"We are confident that many of you will support and visit our successor, who we are sure will delight you with the opening of his Nepalese restaurant.

"We will keep you updated on the resumption of the HorseChoux sales. (Horsechoux is an independent company from L’Artisan). Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for these wonderful years."
