New restaurant in Frome promises 'smiles, good vibes, and memorable meals'

A new restaurant with a menu developed by a Michelin Star-winning chef is promising "smiles, good vibes, and memorable meals" for diners in Frome. The Little Walcot opened on Stony Street following the success of its sister restaurant Walcot House in Bath.

A representative of the restaurant said: “Little Walcot is about proper neighbourhood dining — smiles, good vibes, and memorable meals with simple ingredients cooked well. We’re excited to bring the Walcot brand of flavour-led hospitality to one of the most vibrant towns in the southwest.”

The restaurant, which will be followed by two more locations in Somerset later this year, has a menu developed with help from Great British Menu winner and Michelin Star awardee Stephen Terry.

Patrons will be able to sample dishes such as Pan Fried Pigeon Breast with Braised Lentils, Bath Blue & Pear Salad with Candied Walnuts, and Hand-Cut Pappardelle with Jerusalem Artichoke & Porcini Mushroom Cream Sauce. The restaurant also has a wine cellar and cocktail bar.

Little Walcot has already started impressing food enthusiasts. One Google review declared it 'probably the best restaurant in Frome right now', writing: "Had an excellent lunch today.

"Delicious wines and excellent food. My pollock and mussel chowder was really good and full of flavour (not easy with pollock). The bavette steak was juicy and cooked medium rare. Staff were friendly and efficient. This is probably the best restaurant in Frome right now."

Another recent reviewer agreed, writing: "I don't think there is anywhere better in Frome at the moment."

Little Walcot is open seven days a week from 9am to 11pm. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
