Restaurant Patios Full in Blacksburg as Outdoor Dining Permitted

Patios and outdoor seating areas at restaurants in Blacksburg, Virginia, were busy with customers on Friday, May 15, as COVID-19 restrictions were eased in some areas of the state, reports said.

Despite being in a county where restrictions have not been lifted, restaurants in Blacksburg — the home of Virginia Tech University — were allowed to reopen outdoor service for graduation weekend, according to WSLS.

News reports said restrictions would not be lifted in harder-hit and more densely populated areas, such as the Washington DC metro area.
